OMG, how has it taken me this long to brag about the fact that our idol and chic queen
mentioned Make it Make Sense (and ‘Phoenixing, specifically) in her wonderful newsy ??? I have made no secret that The High Low was the very first podcast I ever listened to and is almost definitely the reason I felt confident about launch our own podcasts in the first place, so this is very special to me.

Speaking of podcasts, Bel and I have a GIFT FOR YOU!!!!! A SPECIAL 10 PART PODCAST SERIES WHERE SPILL ALLLLL THE TEA ABOUT HOW FUCKED UP AND BEAUTIFUL OUR EXPERIENCE OF THE PUBLISHING WORLD HAS BEEN!!
For the next 10 weeks we will be running through Make It Make Sense, chapter by chapter, giving you alllll the goss about what was going on in our private lives, and our publishing lives, as we were writing. It was so nice to be back on the mic with Bel, and I know so many of you have been waiting for a return of the pods!! Here it is xxx

Sydney had a Crumbl Cookie disaster

Ok so last night my ENTIRE TikTok feed was telling me about the Crumbl Cookie drama in Sydney. Crumbl Cookies, if you’re unaware, are these DECADENT cookies that have been going viral lately (not least bc of Lili Reinhart’s Crumbl ASMR.)
What happened in Sydney was that this viral US cookie brand was ‘hosting’ a pop-up where people were standing in line for 45 minutes - 2 hours, only to find out that ONE COOKIE WAS $17.50, and then when they did get what The New York Times has described as “plump, doughy (and) intensely sweet” cookies, were OLD AND STALE.
People immediately felt like something was off (more than just the price) and then it was discovered that this was not an official pop up at all. Actually, it was run by a couple of Aussies who’d travelled to the US and “imported Crumbl cookies from their store in Hawaii” – which they then sold upon their return to Sydney.

Anyway, I know there are bigger fish to fry, but who doesn't love a bit of low stakes drama every now and again?

The Lebanese prime minister says his country is facing "one of its most dangerous phases", and that one million people are displaced
