The head of the UN wants to ban fossil fuel advertising
Ok, so you know how tobacco advertising was banned because of its threat to our health? Well, the UN Secretary-General (António Guterres) reckons it’s time to do the same thing with fossil fuels.
Yesterday he said that if we want to save the world from climate change (just a really chill goal there) we need to ban fossil fuel industries from advertising, as they are the “godfathers of climate chaos.”
Why is he talking about this now?
Well, it’s not been a good year for the planet.
Data from the EU's climate service confirms that each of the past 12 months set a new global temperature record for the time of year. The high temperatures were driven by human-caused climate change, although they were also given a small boost by the El Niño climate phenomenon.

Halsey has been diagnosed with lupus and leukaemia
Halsey, who you may know from their music (but if you’re me, you know them from the poems they wrote about Matty Healy), let the world in on some devastating news yesterday.
Posting to Instagram, they said “long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive. short story long, i wrote an album. it begins with The End. out now.”
In the first video, Halsey says:
“Seriously, seriously… like an old lady,” the 29-year-old said in the video. “I told myself I’m going to give myself two more years to be sick.
“At 30 I’m having a rebirth and I’m not going to be sick and I’m going to look super-hot and have lots of energy and I’m just going to get to redo my 20s in my 30s.”
They tagged the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and showed themselves going in for treatment.

IKEA has opened a store on Roblox and you can earn real money in it
You know I’m obsessed with the future of the internet and honestly, if you wanna look to one place where the future is happening, it’s Roblox. The latest? Ikea is hiring real people to work inside a virtual store on the platform. They’re gonna pay “the same rate as a London co-worker — £13.15 / €14.80 an hour.”
Ikea is accepting applications through Sunday, June 16. Ikea will hold virtual interviews June 14 through June 18 and new hires will be paid for their time on the game.
Sorry but if I was an 18-year-old looking for some extra income I would have been alllllll over this.
