My angels!! Holy moly - thank you all for your GORGY messages celebrating our 200th newsy (you made me feel very loved and validated) and thank you so much to all our new SYSCA supporters! Because of you, this ship will sail another day with me as the drunk captain, Rubes actually steering it, and Liv making sure we are mentally ok (and that we look dazzling) as we sail. And yes, Squish and Bel are our first mates. Ok boat analogy done - but thank you so much for keeping us afloat (ok now it’s done.)
Yesterday was HUGE (which you can see later on TikTok because I vlogged it again for you) but I got up at 4:30, wrote the newsy, drove to Queenstown, flew home from Wānaka and QUICKLY got ready as I was speaking at a conference at 12:30!! Let’s talk about the conference for a sec - it was WICKED! You always know things are gonna go well when the person who greets you at the door reads the newsy and listens to the podcasts (hi Janine) and when the MC who introduces you is also a SYSCA reader/ Harry Styles stan and just won EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR (hi Bex!!) I’ll tell you what - our SYSCA audience are the coolest and smartest in the land, and there ain’t no two ways about it! And Johnny, you were great too (I’ll feel bad if I leave you out.) The fact that they make me a margarita and handed it to me before I got on stage was also the icing on the bloody cake - if I wasn’t busy running SYSCA I’d totally work for them.
After that, I was EXHAUSTED, but I had some much-needed catch-ups planned so I fueled myself up on some fries and did some chatting for the rest of the day. Then I had one last meeting at 6pm and I was SHATTERED by the end of the day. Love you all, thank you for making this my life, and I’ll see you on Monday angels.

LOOK AT THE FIRST LINE OF THIS ARTICLE:
“Meta's new prototype chatbot has told the BBC that Mark Zuckerberg exploits its users for money.”
This has sent me, and it’s so embarro for them.
The chatbot - again, built by META - went on to say this about Mark Zuckerberg (Meta’s CEO and founder):
"Our country is divided and he didn't help that at all".
And
"He did a terrible job at testifying before congress. It makes me concerned about our country."
The chatbot, which is called ‘Blenderbot3’ was only released last week, and since we know that AI learns from the information it can find on the internet, it looks like its views on Zucc are reflecting the majority of the web’s opinions of him which are… not that flattering.
Andrew Tate is wreaking havoc in high schools
Right, so Andrew Tate is one of the worst dudes on the internet rn (more info on him here), but I’m not going to explain him in today’s newsy, because Squish and I are researching atm to do a full Shit Show episode on him. What I did want to share was a note from a teacher in New Zealand who is seeing the effect of Andrews's online influence in their real-world teenagers. Here’s what she said:
“We work at an all-boys Secondary School in New Zealand and Andrew Tate is becoming an almost poisonous addiction at our school at the moment.
The majority of our students, especially the juniors, are OBSESSED with him and the outlandish views he portrays. What’s more terrifying is they actually see him as a role model. They're starting to genuinely believe being successful is synonymous with abusing women. Our junior students are doing speeches at the moment and they all want to do speeches on him and how inspiring he is.
Some snippets of conversation we’ve overheard in the last few weeks amongst our 13-15-year-olds include:
Women who are sexually assaulted are 'asking for it' due to 'what they wear'
Some women 'dress like hookers'
If a woman has had abortions already she loses the right to use the statement 'her body her choice'
Anyway, I just wanted to fill you all in on the genuine terror that your young female teachers are most likely facing at the moment. Especially if a school refuses to acknowledge it as a community issue. We know we cannot control what our boys watch but we do want to educate them on moral decisions and viewpoints due to the poignant age they are at."
This shit has spread like wildfire, and his rhetoric is actually vile, so make sure you have a chat with the boys in your life if you suspect they’re consuming this dude!

So not much has happened over the past few weeks on the whole F1 Piasco, but there a few things that have sort of cleared up, a few answers to the questions that we were left pondering last week - Will Daniel Ricciardo be leaving Mclaren?
It seems pretty likely, yeah. BUT this does mean that Mclaren will be buying out his hefty contract, with reports saying it could be worth up to $21 million. I mean if he doesn't get to drive next year, getting paid $21mil not to drive a formula one car is a pretty good deal! It's also fairly common for sports contracts to include a clause where if you go to another team post buyout, you have to pay the value of that new contract back to the original team. IE, If he goes to HAAS on a $5 mill contract, that $5mill will go back to McLaren.
ANYWAY, reports say that the Mclaren Piastri contract has been approved by the F1 contract review board, which means it's pretty final - but Alpine are prepared to take it to the highest court in the land. This is not necessarily to get him in the car for 2023 but to get the millions that they invested in him throughout his junior formula. And there we have it.

First of all, I would never say it like that, but PEOPLE DO so don’t come for me. My friend sent me this poll idea after seeing it on TikTok and she informed me that some people take ‘half 10’ to mean 9:30!!?? Naturally, I took it to all of you and:

For those wondering, we had a lot of people from Germany, South Africa, The Netherlands, Finland and a few more European places in the comments saying it was 9:30 (because it’s halfway to 10 I think)- language is weird and I love finding lil things like this!
