OMG ANGELS, last night I went and watched Elvis and holy fuuuuuck it was so good. So good, even, that I can totally look past the fact that Austin Butler seems to have altered his voice forever for the role. Also, on the way out of the movie I was going down the escalator and MY SKIRT GOT CAUGHT IN IT - I genuinely thought I was about to be sucked down into it, never to be seen again - new fear unlocked.

Do you all remember when I explained what a war crime is to you? Here’s a wee refresher:
“It may not seem like it, but yes, even war has rules (I can’t tell you how good it feels to be finally putting my degree in International Relations to good use!) These ‘rules’ sit within treaties like the Geneva Conventions and a bunch of other international laws and agreements. Here’s a few of the rules:
Civilians cannot be deliberately attacked - nor can the infrastructure that is vital to their survival.
Some weapons are banned because of the indiscriminate or appalling suffering they cause - such as anti-personnel landmines and chemical or biological weapons.
The sick and wounded must be cared for - including injured soldiers, who have rights as prisoners of war.
Serious offences such as murder, rape or mass persecution of a group are known as "crimes against humanity."
So by this definish (by the very first bullet point, even) Russia has just committed another war crime.Â
So what just happened?
Well, at least 16 people have died in a missile strike on a shopping centre in the Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk while about 1000 civilians were thought to be inside.Â
G7 leaders (who are meeting in Germany right now) have called the attack a war crime, and a crime against humanity, which is exactly what it is. We’ve got more information on what constitutes a war crime here.Â
