Luckily we’ve got Bel - our resident witch, internet crush and now agony aunt (agony sister?) - to help all make it make sense in our new weekend advice column for paid supporters 'Wait, But What?'

My crushes! GOD it’s so good to be back and coming to you live with a whole new newsy this year. After a month off hiking around the cliffs of Portugal (in what I was affectionately calling a ‘Hike and Heal’ lol and Luce said that sounded like something a WAG would franchise and charge $7,000 to attend), I’m SO READY to be back in your inboxes again each weekend for something other than the news <3

We thought of the concept of an advice column last year when I’d spend Sundays answering Q&As on my Instagram about life dilemmas people were asking for answers for. It’s loosely connected to the book, too. At a time when everything feels like it’s whooshing away in an endless scroll, and each day we wake up with new news of the ~ permaweird ~ in the ~ permacrisis ~ how nice is it to have people help you make sense of it all? (yes, lol that is how we got to the book title.

Also, I think 2024 is the end of cringing at yourself or being worried about what other people think — everyone’s too busy thinking about themselves anyway!

What to expect

Send us your burning Qs, and I’ll answer one each week, but try to do it in a way that’s interesting for everyone — everything from how to phoenix out of a pre-life crisis, what to do when your date hasn't asked you a SINGLE QUESTION, or how to stand up to a boss who thinks you're just in the room to grab him a flat white and plug the HDMI cord in.

Plus, all the usual bits you usually love! Chaotic but cute playlists, poems, book recs, short cute musings etc. You know, coz I love you like that.
