I just heard a voice in my head for the first time *ever* at the ripe old age of 25 and it was your fricken kiwi voice saying something I don’t think you’ve ever actually said??? (although I can totes imagine you saying it). Anyways it legit scared me and gave me such an adrenaline rush that I had to turn my phone back on and tell ya. Been spam listening to all the podcasts today after getting a couple of weeks behind so who knows maybe Squish or Liv’s voice will turn up in my head next. Will keep you updated.”

Turns out they are people Just Like Us! I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but lately Instagram is just sorta trying to be TikTok - feeding us reels from people we don’t know (most of which are just TikToks that I’ve seen weeks earlier) and kinda forgetting that they were once quite a good app for photo sharing. Kylie Jenner agrees that this change sucks, and even chose to put her insta-activism boots on and stand up for what she believes in, by posting this:
I know this seems pretty low stakes, but it would actually be super interesting to see if they listen - I mean when the second most followed person on your app says that they kinda hate it now, you should probs listen (remember what Kylie did to Snapchat when she announced she hated the redesign??)

Historic gay pride jersey sparks player boycott in Australia
After a surprise unveiling of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles new pride jerseys, about half the team has decided to… not play. Yep, they’ve decided to boycott their next match… over a jersey. Apparently, the coach had made the decision to change the jerseys in order to “represent diversity and inclusion for all” (an iconic decision to be fair) but when it was unveiled it upset some of the lads.
Here’s what the coach (Des Hasler) said in a press conference about the boycott:
“They [the players] are not wearing the jersey as it conflicts with their cultural and religious beliefs, and I am concerned for their welfare,” Hasler said. “Their spirituality is a central part of their wellbeing. The club has made an error from which it will learn. The players will not play on Thursday and we accept their decision.
These young men are strong in their beliefs and convictions. We’ll give them space and the support they require. The playing group are solid and understanding of each other’s views.”
I don’t think I even need to add any commentary to those quotes. In some good news though, the club's chairman said: “We're not going to force them to play, but we're committed to the jersey and we're committed to inclusion’ and the team are going to go ahead and wear the jersey anyway. And so they should!!
