Crushes!

Each time I sit down to write you these, mostly on a Thursday afternoon with a Bounty Bar in hand or Saturday morning over coffee in bed, I always have you at the front of my mind, thinking, oh god, if I was reading this while doing something else, would I have switched off by now? Why would I care? Does this make it feel better or worse?

Hopefully, the former, but who’s ever to know?

It’s a funny dynamic to negotiate: I’m self-conscious about spending too much time telling you about my life (wow, another person with an email address telling us they’re important, cool Bel), but I also want to let you into the cracks of what’s going on, so you know I’m just like you — a strange and singular being just trying to make it all make sense out here (small clue about how our book name came about).
