What’s it about again?

We want to make personal essays chic and accessible and funny and not something you feel like you need a postgraduate university degree to fully understand.

So, our book is a collage of cultural analysis, anecdotes, personal essays, poems and exchanges, interplayed like a conversation between friends (us) to give you just that feeling. It centres around what it’s been like as the last generation who knew life before the internet, and the impact this has had on the way we live between real life and online worlds.

When everything feels like it's whooshing away in an endless scroll, Make It Make Sense holds the answers (or questions) to what to do with all these big feelings. Covering everything from work to crushing and love, being underestimated, travelling, grief to algorithmic angst - this is the bedside table essential for anyone who’s felt their way through life and wants that experience reflected back at them 𓆩♡𓆪

What the cover means: (Why flowers - who designed it?)

Ok so turns out the cover design is a WHOLE PROCESS UNTO ITSELF and one we spent ages going back and forth over (in the middle of both moving around the world, too, lol).

The illustration is by our friend Marcello (whose gorge designs you might recognise from some super cool shit he’s done over the years) and if you think it’s cute, there’s a whole lot more cute things of this ~ vibe ~ to come…

Why pre-orders are so important:

This is also something we had no idea about until now but turns out, pre-orders are actually SO IMPORTANT for debut books. It helps give booksellers an idea of how many copies of your book to order in, where to sell them and who is interested in reading it.

We know the simple cost of being alive atm is so gnarly, and also it seems weird sometimes to buy something when you can’t get it until SEPTEMBER. But every order counts and also helps us towards, idk, maybe… coming and seeing you somewhere chic and cool in real life?!

MOSTLY WE JUST LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND CANNOT BELIEVE WE WROTE A WHOLE BOOK!!!!
