Happy Valentine's day lovers!!! I know for a bunch of you it’s still the 13th, but I can’t really do anything about that, can I?? Over the weekend I got my booster shot, saw a lot of pals, watched the TInder Swindler (!!!) also started watching Starstuck (the TV show, not the Disney channel movie) as per a lot of your recommendations. I’m trying my best to get through “To Paradise” but am reeeeally struggling so am genuinely thinking about giving up. Hmmm I think that’s all my updates for you - EXCEPT - here’s another “my friend Rebecca” story from a lovely reader:
“I also have a mortifying story about recording myself. I recorded myself singing Ben by Michael Jackson and had it on cassette. A while later, my drum teacher asked me to bring in a cassette to record myself playing drums in class so I could go home and practise. He pops it on, there I am singing Ben, and I scrambled over the drum kit to turn it off and then said it was my friend Renee who was singing. 😅😅 He knew Renee, and he knew that was me singing. I can’t listen to that song anymore 🥴😑😶”

In case you missed it, yesterday Harry Styles was hooning round London in a giant bed on wheels, filming a new music video for… something. Does this mean we will get new music this year/soon?? I sure as hell hope so 🥺

A little bit of context for that last one, here in NZ there are some stupid protests happening outside parliament (take a wild guess what they’re about) and authorities have weirdly decided to play Barry Manilow's greatest hits and the Macarena on repeat to try and get them to move along. Ahh, New Zealand. Naturally, the protestors responded by playing songs like Twisted Sister's ‘We're Not Gonna Take It.’ Lol I think someone needs to remind them (perhaps via song) that this is not a Pitch Perfect riff-off.
Not gonna lie though, if they started playing ‘Three Wise Men’ by James Blunt I would in fact stay longer at the protest.

When it comes to PR, Ye certainly learnt from the best. Kris Jenner would be proud of his recent efforts to get himself back in the media cycle before his doco “Jeen-Yuhs” drops on Netflix this week. I mean… I kinda hope it’s all a PR move (I know, who says that??) otherwise he’s just being mean for no reason whatsoever (not excusing it). It’s not lost on me that Ye has bipolar, and this does have the signs of him perhaps struggling with it right now - however he’s been online to say that it in fact, isn’t to do with his mental health, ("THE WORLD IS RACIST SEXIST HOMOPHOBIC AND CRAZY PHOBIC AT OUR CORE ITS CHEAP AND DISMISSIVE TO SAY IM OFF MY MEDS ANYTIME I SPEAK UP PHOBIA IN THIS SENSE DOESN’T MEAN BEING AFRAID OF IT MEANS NOT GIVING POWER TO LETS BE MORE CONSCIOUS AND NOT WRITE EACH OTHER OFF SO EASILY") so for today, let’s just take his latest actions at face value, like he wants us to.

Context: a fan at a Billie Eilish concert in Atlanta was struggling to breathe, so Billie stopped the show to try and get an inhaler to them, saying that she waits for people to be okay before she keeps going.
Ye then posted a screenshot of a headline about this to his Instagram, saying:
"COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN TRAV DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED AND YES TRAV WILL BE WITH ME AT COACHELLA BUT NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM."
Billie commented on the post saying that she literally didn’t even mention Travis, and that she was “just helping a fan.” I reckon she should call his bluff and let him cancel his Coachella performance.
Ye vs Kid Cudi:
Ye is also not happy with old mate/ collaborator Kid Cudi. Spoiler: Cudi doesn’t care.
Ye posted this hilarious photo of Timmy, Cudi and Pete with the caption:
“I JUST WANTED MY FRIEND TO HAVE MY BACK THE KNIFE JUST GOES IN DEEPER”
And then said that Cudi “will not be on Donda because he's friends with you know who,” adding “we all speak in Billie language now.”
Cudi responded to the post in the comments, saying “Too bad I don’t wanna be on ur album u fuckin dinosaur hahaha 🤣.”
He also tweeted:
To which Ye the responded on insta with:

For obvious reasons, Ye doesn’t like Pete Davidson. Or Hilary Clinton by the looks of things. Here’s what he wrote under a photo he posted of Pete:
