The White House Easter Egg Roll is like a huge event the WH puts on for kids every year (since 1878) where they have a bunch of like family activities, games, storytime, the Easter Bunny etc. and yes, kids literally roll eggs down a hill on the WH lawn. There's also apparently a tradition of the first lady being presented with a hand-painted "commemorative egg" by the American Egg Board. My parents took us one year when we were little kids and lived near DC and it's just as chaotic and surreal as it sounds lol
The Embedded piece was suuuuper interesting but my make take away from it is integrity/truth behind the headlines (which is why we love u Luce for all your fact-checking!) rather than gen z specifically - we all know boomers love to read what Kathleen down the road shared on Facebook and treat it as gospel!

My partner is from the UK and they also do an egg roll/race? I first experienced last year. Hard boiled eggs, hand painted and decorated and then lobbed down a hill. The goal was to go the furthest and not break but there was no real system or rules to it tbh
The Dali Lama has been dodgy for years. He used to be on the FBI books and was paid monthly by them. This during the height of Nixon. Check out Caitlin Johnstone substack for more on this.
