Andrew Garfield just recorded the most moving podcast I’ve ever heard
Warning: Do NOT attempt to listen to this in a public place, because you will cry.
The other night I got this text from one of my brother’s besties, Callum:
As we know, content sharing is my LOVE LANGUAGE, so whenever someone sends me something, I do my ABSOLUTE BEST to read/ watch/ listen to it, and I love Callum’s brain so I knew this would be gorge. However, NOTHING could have prepared me for how moving this episode is.

I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s the most beautiful episode of anything I’ve ever listened to. EVER. The way he embraces his vulnerability, he talks about grief, about time - and there never being enough of it - about being in a prison of our our own lives and how we will only live the one we have - UGHHHHH IT’S EVERYTHING. PLEASE GO AND LISTEN TO IT.

Optimus is freaking me out
Have you seen Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus?
Last week, at their Cybercab event, Tesla didn’t make it just about the cars—they made sure their Optimus robots stole some of the spotlight. These humanoid bots were EVERYWHERE, from mingling with the crowd and serving drinks to playing charades and even busting a few moves inside a gazebo.
But before you get too excited (or freaked out, like I was), here’s the catch: While they looked like something out of a sci-fi movie, these bots aren’t fully autonomous - a human was actually remote-assisting to pull off some of those tasks (and its voice.)
Anyway, it’s still creepy.
Normy’s News
This is a segment where I got through the numerous emails Normy has sent me each day containing news stories and, when they’re good enough, they make it into his own special segment, Normy’s news.
SpaceX just caught a huge rocket booster for the first time. Now what?
Normy woke up at 3am to watch this happen live, and the footage is quite incredible:
Basically a 70-meter-tall SpaceX rocket got caught by some chopsticks (two giant mechanical arms that were waiting to clasp it). This is dope, and huge, because it’s a massive step towards space exploration becoming more sustainable, because they can REUSE THE ROCKET!!! More on this here.
Rare deluge floods Sahara desert for first time in decades
Dad wanted me to put this piece in here purely so that he could make some sort of joke about flooding in for an Oasis reunion. I can’t remember the joke and neither can I. Anyway, despite him making a joke, this story is NOT a joke. “For the first time in decades, parts of the Sahara Desert in southeastern Morocco have been flooded by a rare deluge of rainfall, creating striking scenes of blue lagoons amid sand dunes and palm trees.”
Activists sell 'farewell tour' merch before King's visit
Apparently the King is getting totally snubbed by Australia, and to make matters worse (better? funnier?) the BBC have reported on The Australian Republican Movement’s latest campaign which is a ‘farewell to the monarchy’ tour.
So many of us have grown up having everything available and accessible to us all the time - which is AMAZING for so many reasons, but there is a cost to free things - even if you can’t see it.
In a world that feels more mystifying by the day, where journalists are constantly being laid off, and misinformation spreads faster than a leaked Harry Styles song, finding media that you trust, understand and actually want to read is so important.
I know you value what I do - so many of you email me saying how much you love the newsletter, thanking me for explaining topics you might not have heard of, and telling me how much it means to you that you’ve got a friend on the other side of this thing (🥺🥺🥺) If you believe in paying for the media (or the person???) you love, then please consider becoming a supporter.

I started to fill out the survey, and then realized that I love everything you do and I will read everything you send, so I would not be helpful at all. Glad others were
