maybe it’s a callous thing to joke about but when you see international rescue operations for these five people in the submarine as opposed to the response towards the hundreds of migrants that drowned this week, it does feel very dystopian

I have everybody's birthdays in my calendar as a recurring event with a '3 days before reminder' and if known, their year of birth so I don't miss the important ones 🤣 Over the top? Absolutely! Necessary? 100%. Also a reminder to message my closest friends and whānau ON their birthday... It's the only way I can manage it.

The older you get, the less important the birthday. If they miss the milestones, well, that's a completely different story!

I try to put peoples bdays in reminders but even then my neurospicy tism brain cannot really remember dates in general. It’s like face blindness but with references of time-which I hear is a thing pretty common for neurodiverse people! Don’t feel bad 😂

I just add people‘s birthdays into my phone contacts when we exchange numbers + made the effort to add birthdays to existing contacts, too. That helps haha xx

Last year both of my parents forgot my birthday!

Feeling so incredibly lucky that not only is Taylor coming to my city, but she will be here the weekend of my birthday!! I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday weekend (unless I don't get tickets in which case I will be sobbing the whole weekend)

I wish Luce had this same energy and sense of sticking up for people when discussing all the vile and rotten things Matty Healy has said about black women, people of color and that Nazi salute at that show.

I’ve always put people birthdays into my calendar!! I’m typically really good with remembering dates but I get nervous about forgetting them.

I have also been adding birthdays into my google calendar this year! Every time I think I have them all, I come across someone I missed haha. Speaking of “missed”, Taylor swift missed Canada too 😩

I'm really not good at remembering birthdays, and I don't mind if people forget - unless it's the people closest to me. But I've realised that it's nice to remember, it's nice for the person (I mean who doesn't like a happy birthday from a friend) and it's nice for me because I feel like I have my life together just a little bit at least.. So in the calendar with reminders they go! That's the only way to remember, come on.

I care if a friend forgets my birthday. It does make me feel a little sad. But it’s not the end of the world, and I agree, everyday friendship is much better. I put birthdays for people I’m not super close to in my phone calendar so I don’t forget. 😂

Birthday's are a hard one, I really struggle to remember dates, even with them recurring in my calender. So I never mind if someone misses mine BUT I know so many people who this is a major issue for.

I do my best to send cards to friends who are abroad or I know in tough spots but hoping day to day makes up for one message...

I had a 15 second heart attack the last time I was at my best friends because she mentioned she'd gotten something as a birthday present and I couldn't remember a) when her birthday was and b) if I'd sent her a present. And this girl is so close to me we're been eachother's bridesmaids. Thankfully I HAD bought her a gift and posted it but the panic had set in.
