Really loving SYSCookA! Is there any way we can have all the recipes in one place? I want to make them but it's hard to go back through all my SYSCA emails and find which ones newsy they were in. Like a google drive or smthn would be amaze XX
Okay so I'm hella late to the game - but shakshuka is actually my favorite food ever (I even live in what I would call the home of shakshuka, we literally have restaurants that just sell it as their main dishes)
My pro tips:
1. cook the tomatoes for longer before putting in the eggs. This leaves the yokes runny and they mix together with the tomato base really nicely.
2. ADD TAHINI - I actually cannot recommend this enough. It's the perfect flavor and adds so so much to the dish as a whole.
3. As someone from the middle east, I actually cannot recommend using Pita bread enough. Especially ones that are hot (either fresh out the oven or toasted a bit - that's your choice).
4. Experiment with different veggies and spices inside to change it up each time.
Ugh Shakshuka is just the greatest meal ever and everyone should be making it constantly. Okay, thanks for coming to my food rant :)
Little tip for shakshuka; depending if you like at add meat to the dish. I like to use kale and pancetta along with what you have in the recipe. I’ll also add 2-3 threads of saffron when cooking the onions! So good!

Being from Chile, i hate book depository closing. Like i have to go and break this to my grandpa now, he loves it. (side note: my grandpa is 89 years old and pretty conservative, so i have to profusely thank book depository for making him buy and read The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, i love the internet).
Not the book depository!! I haven't shopped there in a little bit, but as a teenager who couldn't get all the books I wanted from bookstores in person it was amazing to be able to get things at such affordable prices!

um Stanley, Idaho is not a "hidden gem" there is nothing but hot springs and the roads there are terrible... i threw up there once
