People who are taking time out of what I assume are very small lives to leave hate can get in the bin. It’s not the vibe, and it’s absolutely not okay. I do hope you’re okay! i never tend to comment on this sort of thing but this my absolute FAVE way of recieving news (and has been for the last year and a bit) and also instagram comments are an utter shit hole and i've literally had to get off insta for the last few days bc they're starting to make me lose faith in humanity
I've noticed that instagram comment sections have been getting hella toxic for a lot of people. Even not public figure people like me, I've been thinking about deactivating my socials for a little bit while I deal with health issues. Instagram comments are giving crazy conservative family member on facebook vibes. Can you shut off comments except for close friends? Or is it only that people that you follow back can comment? I don't know how it is. I'm sorry, moving halfway across the world is stressful enough without people being grade A jerkbags in your comments.
Totally agree with everyone saying they love this newsy and people on instagram can be the worst. But also I've never heard a bell pep called a capsicum. Had to google it and apparently that's part of the plant species name... v science-y
Luce I absolutely love the newsy and everything you do for this platform, I love the community you're fostering and the way you cover things so screw anyone making you feel bad for what you choose to cover and how! Obviously you're not going into depth on topics on Instagram that's not the platform to do it!!!
Also, on the Colleen Ballinger thing, I do honestly think that if she had of just acknowledged that she did some super inappropriate things with children and sincerely apologised for the hurt she's caused it would have been a decent apology. But instead shes trying to minimise everything and acting like it's all just misinformation when a lot of the weird behaviour is documented for people to see.
i really love the mixture of pop culture and seriously important issues in this newsletter, as a young, just starting out blogger it gives me lots of inspiration! 💌

I think you should definitely turn the comments off! Do not let those keyboard warriors send their bad energy that's 10000000% not needed. I love the content, a great and to the point news source.
Luce and team - you are bringing energy that people WISH they had! You care about shit! You make others care about shit! And I’m always reminded about that one newsy you did about how teen girls are discounted a lot of the time and I think that about these newsies and topics and how it feels v much like because we are women, our interests are written off, even when you are providing us really good content in relatable, digestible snippets (with sources!!). Sure I don’t totally care about every single thing you post, but you deem it worthy so I will read it and let it go if I don’t want to hold onto it! Very long response to say - the haters can suck it and I (and I think many others) will follow the sysca group into the dark
This is definitely a safe space for you. And if you will allow me to go all old people on you for a moment, it used to be that if you read a headline you didn't like, you just swiped on by because you weren't interested. Nowadays, people will read a headline, go all the way down to the comments section (which often requires you to sign in), just to type something inane like "This is a stupid topic. I am not interested in this!" Now... How stupid and self-centered do you have to be to think that someone is going to read that comment and change their entire content based on what some rando thoughtlessly posts in the comment section? 🙄🙄🙄 (Rant over)
