We love a yap king. Personally, I could not yap for 25 hours straight without food, let alone with a bathroom break. Very grateful to have Senator Booker as one of my reps 🫶🏻
Also small point: a filibuster is technically only a filibuster when it is done to delay a vote on legislation. Since he wasn’t opposing a specific vote, Sen. Booker’s protest was a marathon speech. But the FiliBooker nickname is too good to pass up imo
Their questions allowed him to catch his breath and rest his voice, but he didn’t leave the floor the whole 25 hours!! He said he stopped drinking on Monday night so that he would be dehydrated and tried not to drink any more than necessary while he was speaking so he could hold out as long as possible 😬
Yes, I agree with Barry. During Booker's filibuster, he could have shown courage to tell the truth about what is happening with Israel-Palestine. But, Booker has long been a neocon on foreign policy, and a shill for AIPAC. Worse, though, is what I received from The Lever this morning about the timing of his filibuster, where I learned the filibuster did not stop Congress from holding hearings or doing other work (I wish the links would show up, too, but, alas): "Cory's notable absence( Senate Democrats actually did their jobs and held Big Tech's feet to the fire during an antitrust hearing on Capitol Hill yesterday.
Missing, however, was the subcommittee's very own ranking Democrat, Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who curiously scheduled his 25-hour filibuster right in the middle of the big hearing. Booker has proved to be a reliable ally to Silicon Valley after taking Big Tech campaign cash."
So, maybe Booker's timing was to avoid having to appear at his committee's hearing, where most Americans would have expected him to stand up against Big Tech. But, Booker has long been a Silicon Valley favorite.
Overall, I have to agree with those calling Booker's filibuster "performative" because it did nothing substantive, stopped nothing that won't be passed, and appears to be have been a stunt to avoid showing up at a hearing where his constituents would have expected him to rip into Big Tech--and he wouldn't do that. Plus, the genocide enablement during the filibuster is really inexcusable for a non-conservative Dem at this point.
Phony bullshit theatre from a phony asshole who was trying to get out of a committe meeting on the influence of big techlords. A man who endorsed two genocidal war criminals and has done ZERO to help get us healthcare, a decent minimum wage, or fight censorship, forever war, and GENOCIDE. Booker is a neocon and Zionist tool. He is THOROUGHLY owned, and his filibuster stunt was just that, for the reasons I just noted.
I didn't appreciate how much I loved the mundane poll until I didn't have it 🥲

I think I heard his colleagues purposely asked long questions so he could go to the bathroom

OK, adult diapers should really sponsor the guy
Luce I totally agree re The Life List - it had so much potential and it flopped :(
I'll keep posting the truth, Cory, so repsond to it, or block me, asshole.
