This was insightful and very akin to what I’m going through now. I’m done being the Chill Girl too.

Loved this - it’s not too much to ask where we stand, something I've never had to do in any platonic relationship with a woman so why does it happen in romantic relationships with men?

Also please don't let silly little man baby comments get to you. X

Yeah.

I had a “cool girl” friend who wanted so much to be one of the guys and needed so badly to justify her shitty treatment from her boyfriend - treatment she had taught him was okay over years of pretending to be a cool girl - that she went out of her way to destroy and discredit my relationship because i had never been chill and expected to be treated like a human being by my boyfriend.

My reality was so foreign to her she chose instead to make me out to be some kind of demanding monstrous instead of seeing for herself the flaws in her relationship.

Cool girl and internalized misogyny. It runs THAT deep.

ugh yes I LOVED this! I think we've ALL tried to be a "chill girl" at some point, only to drive ourselves insane in the process. And do the people we're ever being so "chill" for notice? Do they care? They do not. Never ever and let's be real none of us WANT to be the chill girl so yes, death to the chill girl facade!

I just published an essay on my Substack yesterday echoing much of the same feelings of this post! Called The death of my inner Cool Girl📝 I’d love it if you gave it a read, as I really enjoyed this brilliant essay :)

I had flashbacks to my chill girl days and how that was the rock bottom that nearly destroyed me, but not enough to break me. I learned to love again—first with myself and eventually the man I married.

Pretty fuckin lame piece if you ask me.

“Patriarchy”. Fucking please stop blaming the patriarchy for everything like a dumb bitch.

Women take every single negative emotion and attribute it to the patriarchy. Must be nice to be able to be a bitch and always blame your insecurities on men.
