i've got to be honest and say i do actually think about the roman empire every day. this is PURELY because i study classics at my sixth form and it's the biggest topic. no other reason!!
I texted my boyfriend asking him how often he thought about the Roman Empire, thinking he was gonna say not ever really, I was wrong. Once we got past the fact he is currently playing a game themed around it, he told me "I don't know. It pops into my head once a week or a few times a month probably.". I burst out laughing when I read that 🤣
His further replies:
"Why?! The Roman empire shaped Europe for 2000 years
So much happened
It's so interesting
Genuinely, i think the roman empire is awesome
And the republic"
My version of it has to be true crime/murder but I don't know if we want to unpack the sociological and societal reasons behind that...

I think it's a real credit to you Luce that you have curated your own little space of the internet where you can get help from strangers around the world to help locate your bags in a totally different country and get them to you!! That's amazing and I'm glad things worked out for you!
