Congrats Luce <3 I have realised that it is a priority of mine to support free media bc I work my big girl job and am in a privileged position because of that, and that has come from uuuu!!!! Srsly the term “support the media you love” has changed my life.
As a person who was once a successful professional, but is now on a pension due to illness and injury, I found this topic extremely interesting.
For me, seeing the reassurance of “cancel anytime” carries a lot of weight. Another suggestion is “pick your monthly membership donation”. So people can pay what amount they want as often as they want eg weekly, fortnightly, monthly or yearly. Monthly and yearly are two things that also put me off. They just don’t work for me. So I don’t subscribe at all.
Maybe incorporating what one of the other commenters said about the “buy me a cup of coffee” slogan this could be incorporated with what I’m suggesting. Eg $5 a week = buy me a Monday cup of coffee,
$12 a week = something-witty-I’m-sure-you-can-come-up-with etc. Yeah, it’s more complicated, but it offers more choice and control for the reader who is contemplating handing over their big bucks.
Your handwriting font is looking so cute!

Congratulations on your success, keep it up XX
Congrats!!! You’re goals!
You've inspired me to start a Substack for @thefounderwellbeingproject, but I have no idea what I am doing! Help!
Outstanding. I have recently started my own newsletter and was looking for some keys to unlock on Substack. Sounds like “notes,” is a key.

Hi! New here. Found this via The Hypen.
About paid subscribers - I just read a post about using "buy me a coffee" and that seems to be working for them.
Just a thought.
Congrats! SYSCA is honestly my fave news source. Thanks for the work you do!!
I just signed up and paid via Apple Pay but it’s still showing me as a free subscriber idk what I did wrong 🥲
Fixed it :)
This is cute. Congratulations and I’m gonna upgrade to paid as soon as I get to work. Can’t do it on the app apparently 🤯
Congrats! You have such an amazing platform ❤️
Wow! So do you still use other newsletter platforms or just substack?
what app do you use to write ?
