I HAVE SO MUCH TO FILL YOU IN ON
a new look, a new office, a new city, a new LIFE!!! + news, obv
My angels!! Good morning or evening or lunchtime or whatever time it is that you’re reading this!!! Over the past little while I’ve had my bestie/ SYSCA’s designer/ our book club team leader
give the newsy a little refresh - something a lil cuter that represents how much we luv the internet and y2k and each other, and I’m honestly OBSESSED WITH IT! So, if u love the refresh as much as I do, plz drop some love for Abby below 𓆩♡𓆪Another new thing is: MY NEW HOUSE! I know I’ve been talking about moving for ages, but I’ve finally done it, and after years and years (six to be exact) of not having an office, I finally have one (lol, in my room) but it’s SO DREAMY:
And I also bought myself these bedsheets last year for my birthday, and didn’t use them for MONTHS until I moved into my new home (tough for an instant gratification girlie) but LOOK AT THEM!!!!
Before you ask, they’re from Society of Wanderers, and they did almost bankrupt me, hence why they were a birthday/ housewarming gift to myself.
I have so much more to fill you in on, but these are the major updates for now!
Love you!!!!

What's the fighting in DR Congo all about?
I’ve had a bunch of messages on Instagram asking me to cover what’s happening in the Democratic Republic of Congo at the mo, so I figured I’d give a brief explainer today.
A lil background for ya:
So, the DR Congo is a super mineral-rich place, which means it has faced ongoing conflict for about 30 years (since the Rwandan genocide in 1994.) The fighting is mostly driven by competition between armed groups and central authorities, and it’s for power over the valuable resources in the area. These resources include Cobalt (used for batteries in electric vehicles and electronics), copper, gold, coltan (used in smartphones, laptops, and other electronics), tin, diamonds, oil, gas, and timber.
What’s happening now?
Essentially the M23 rebel group has rapidly gained ground in eastern DRC, capturing key cities and towns.
Note: The M23 rebel group (also known as the March 23 Movement) is an armed group operating in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
In January they seized Goma, which is a crucial city in North Kivu with over a million residents. It’s a vital trade and transport hub close to towns that are rich in valuable minerals. Since this takeover there have been severe food and water shortages, and reports of overwhelmed hospitals and bodies in the streets.
Now, M23 rebels have entered Bukavu (the second-largest city in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo), seizing the regional governor's office.
“The Congolese government has acknowledged its fall and urged residents to stay at home "to avoid being targeted by the occupying forces".
The UN and European countries have warned that the latest offensive, which has seen hundreds of thousands of people forced from their homes, could spark a wider regional war.”

I’m obviously fucking obsessed with this Lonely Island medley
Not only does it include Andy Samberg (my literal biggest crush of all time) and Lady Gaga (duh) but it’s paying homage to The Lonely Island who are just my favourite people in the world, ever. Please watch it, and if you don’t like it, I really don’t want to hear about it, because for some reason it made me really emoshe.
Also, older Parnell could totally get it.
Sabrina Carpenter had Dolly Parton on her deluxe version of Please Please Please and the internet is divided over it
Watch it here:
My favourite comment about this was ‘why does it feel like Dolly is creeping up behind me in her verse’ hahahahah
Anyway, I want to know your thoughts so I’m making it today’s mundane poll!
