It's really the logical endpoint of the incentives of social media. Kanye always wanted his contrarian nonsense to confound us, if not appall us. But the definition of appalling has changed significantly since 2016, so he, like everyone on the alt-right grift train, has to try even harder.
Now it's a lose-lose situation. React to it, and you feed into their contrived self-victimhood narrative. Don't respond, and you're complicit in the spread of anti-Semitism.
Love the article on Dwight. The Office is my favorite but I didn’t realize just how much of an impact it really has on life and work itself between the characters and what happens. And, unfortunately, there are those Dwights and Michaels out there.
I read (on Twitter) yesterday that a champion Iranian indoor rock climber had her whole house bulldozed by the regime because she didn’t compete in her hijab.
Imagine it being 2022 and you're still using mental illnesses to try and insult people :/ Neither Ye nor Alex Jones have been diagnosed as schizophrenic, sir, and bipolar disorder (which Ye HAS been diagnosed with) is a whole different thing than schizophrenia. Comments like this are wrong, ableist, and just plain rude. Do better.
r.e iran: i'm not going to comment on the whole are-hijabs-mandatory thing because frankly i don't know enough about it! but i do know that in islam oppressing ANYONE to do ANYTHING (even if it's for their better!) is considered very wrong! i know a lot of muslim women who don't wear hijab at all/only on some occasions, and that's ok if that's their interpretation of it!
Hi Luce, catching up on my bona fide fav pop culture podcast, currently on "Kanye West & Bel Chimes In". Every single time you say celebrities, it sounds like "silly bities" hahahah and I love it. Makes me do a double take every time.
Seeing all of this happen with Ye is just...I don't even know the words. Years (and years) ago I would "defend" his behavior but in the most recent years I have abandoned this ideology because 1) I'm not on his PR team 2) These recent situations are just plain inexcusable among many other things.
And Kayne... there are no words. It’s amazing how “never again” is happening again.

I want to write a whole section on this piece tomorrow! When pop culture explains the world it’s my ✨fave✨ way to make sense of it all
Yessss and I cannot wait to read it. Maybe it’s time I write something about it too.

I saw this! (On the BBC) Love that we’re giving our sources to be ✨transparent✨ hehe
Hah! People always say they can see right through me so ...😉😉🤣
One amazing thing about the Ye interview is watching Alex Jones become uncomfortable with what Ye is saying.
