I’m not gonna lie - I am SUCH a lowercase letter girlie. In this newsy I obv use capital letters (except for the odd title) because I want to be taken #seriously, but in all my personal communications (dms, texting etc) my phone is set to NOT auto capitalise. I think I started doing it back in my twitter days in like 2010 and just never stopped. I like how nonchalant and unserious it looks I think.

In order of things that make a convo look serious when messaging (1 being the most serious):

1. f\Full stops. I will never use one when I’m texting you and if I do, it’s a mistake

2. A thumbs up react and nothing else

3. Capital letters at the beginning of the message

Anyway, The Guardian just published a think piece all about this phenomenon, so you should go and read it if you want to hear from more people than just me on the subject xx
