I remember I lost my passport (drinking) the day before I moved to Australia and had to frantically call every taxi company in Wellington trying to find it. Then had to go to the Hutt to some shady driver’s house to retrieve it!
Also another time had to fork out for an emergency passport.
I have now learnt my lessons. It’s part of growing up!
Soooo glad you got it! I live in small town NZ too, and once got the local post people to check a post box near my house because my mother hadn't received her mother's day card, and I was worried it hadn't been collected and sure enough there it was haha
