I completely agree with getting off socials, I just deleted Snapchat off my phone, logged out of my main insta account (the other one is where I post the books I read) and set a thirty min/day timer on TikTok (did all this last night after having a full mental breakdown and realizing my mental health has been quite shit for awhile now). Manifesting for 2024 to be a better year for everyone 🩷🩷🩷
‘I wanna be underweight’ made me want to cry. I wish I could grab these girls by the shoulders and tell them there’s more to life than this notion they have to look a certain way. I guess it’s easy to see how consuming it is from the outside, but having been in it when I was young, it feels so normalised at the time. These messages always find a way through to vulnerable people unfortunately

Been seeing "this is my peaceful era year" everywhere at the moment - on the internet and IRL and can't tell if it's algo's or synchronicity... gonna go with the latter to make it more magical <3
Also - the fact that thinspiration is still a thing is heartbreaking... it took over my life in secondary school for a quick sec and is so damaging!
Oh no :( I remember getting sucked into what was then called pro-an* tumblr back in the early 2010s... many of which was later heavily banned. And now to see this reemerge on tiktok? Another day to be glad I don't have it because I can see myself getting triggered into old ED behaviors... bleak, sickening.

Until our society puts more value into a person's character than we do appearance, I think it will always be a problem. This is so sad.
