I’m rushing out the door this morning because I’m omw to talk at an event at Spark Arena today (🤯🤯) huuuuge day for short colourful girls to be sharing the wisdom of the SYSCA universe with an arena full of people.
All I would like to pass on before I go is that NATURALLY I’ll be posting behind-the-scenes content to Close Friends, and ALSO, yesterday we started running a SZA giveaway for NZ/ Australian SYSCA Supporters, and there’s still plenty of time to enter!
Love you all the most xxx

I interviewed Ronald from Jury Duty!!
And he is GENUINELY the nicest guy ever - AND NOT AN ACTOR. He also told us some secrets that I haven’t heard him say publicly before, and about how paranoid he got after he found out it was all fake…
Speaking of juries, a real jury has found that Trump sexually abused E Jean Carroll in NY department store
Content warning: sexual assault.
Yesterday Donald Trump was found liable for sexually abusing E Jean Carroll in the dressing room of Bergdorf Goodman in the 1990s. He was also found liable of defamation, for dismissing her accusations as "a hoax and a lie."
Notably, despite the many accusations, this ruling marks the first time that Donald Trump has been held legally accountable for sexual assault.
As a result of this, Trump has been ordered to pay E Jean Carroll $5m in damages, and in response to the decision, she said:
"Today, the world finally knows the truth," Ms Carroll said in a written statement following the verdict. "This victory is not just for me but for every woman who has suffered because she was not believed."
Naturally, Trump's lawyer has announced that he plans to appeal against the decision, and Trump himself posted this on Truth Social, after the trial:
It’s also important to note that because the trial was in civil court rather than criminal, Mr Trump will not be required to register as a sex offender.
Shit You Should Cook About: A SYSCA Summer Salad 🥗
Shit You Should Cook About is written by London Laura - our resident ray of sunshine and co-host of Culture Vulture (our weekly pop culture podcast!) She’s a new London dweller, chief of romanticising literally everything, and will definitely ask you all what your love language is at some stage. Helllllooo lovely whānau! She’s a quick and cute one today as I am *OOO* on holiday in Spain celebrating Stanley Tucci lite’s birthday and swimming in the ocean for the first time in a YEAR! It may have not been the balmiest temp but I still almost cried when I dove into the water (which was also the most emerald perfect ocean I have seen in my life?!?!)
We have been taking long bus rides to beautiful villages nestled into mountainsides, I’ve read 3 books (curse of being a speedy reader) incl Romantic Comedy the first Book Club pick ofc, and best of all eating fresh fish and drinking sangria by the jug oceanside - which has me literally counting down the days until summer cooking / eating is a reg occurrence!!!
To wish it here sooner, and give our AU/NZ besties a chance to make it before the tomatoes go completely out of season, today your SYSCookA is a simply perfect spring salad. It’s the perfect balance of tangy, sweet and fresh - and never ever fails to get a “wowww” reaction when you bring it out because it looks SO good (even though all you did was chop some fruit into wedges and dribble some vinegar). While at its best when the fruit is properly in szn, it is pretty forgiving so don’t feel you have to get the best tomatoes or most perfect peaches - they get chopped up anyway! Best of all it is (as all these recipes seem to be) highly adaptable - swap peaches for nectarines (or pear, melon!). Vegan? Axe the mozz! No balsamic? red wine vinegar, cider vinegar, even lemon juice will work!
Lots of love and see you next week for a podcast bumper special on *relationships* <3 And as always keep sending me your q’s and cute pics!!! Big week for perfect scrammie eggs last week it seems and as someone proactively making time in my mornings for breakfast I simply LOVE to see it and am v inspired!! London Laura xxxx
🥗A SYSCA Summer Salad🥗
Ingredients (feeds 4)
3x peaches
5x Large tomatoes (or lots of cherry ones!)
1 ball of mozzarella (a block of feta would work too!)
1 shallot
Handful of fresh basil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Drizzle of olive oil
Salt & pepper
Chop your tomatoes and peaches into wedges - texture is key here so pick a size / shape easy enough to pop in your mouth in one bite. Arrange on a plate and drizzle lightly with the balsamic vinegar - I do about a capful of it in total. Then chop your shallot into very fine slices and arrange on top of the salad along with your basil torn gently and scattered over the top. Nestle your mozzarella ball in the centre of the plate, or tear into pieces and scatter across. Grind some salt & pepper on top with a hearty drizzle of olive oil across the whole plate. Serve immediately!!

My family finds it so strange that I usually prefer my water at room temperature - ESP if I'm working out. Cold water while working out makes me feel like throwing up.
That salad looks amazinggg!! A Burrata would also pair so well in place of the mozzarella !
