Setting off on my final chapter of this lifetime, I find I am primarily my weirdo self with everyone. However, there are a few people for whom I have to consciously trim back my love of cursing. Dude, that shit is HARD! (That's what she said) Anywho, maybe it's the luxury of walking this crazy spinning orb for 63 years, but I finally know who I am, unabashedly, and share her with the world. That said, I have besties from my long work career who are the same eternal 10-year-old as myself with whom I have the GREATEST time.

Today’s Edish “Who do you like yourself best around?” got me thinking about a Tiktok I watched recently. The user @hellohayes talked about the idea that you have 6 types of friends/friendships that serve different purposes. True to my people-pleasing nature, I feel pressure to be (and also have) that friend that serves me/them in all aspects of my/their life ie. the advice friend, fun friend, the OG friend etc. While I believe friends/friendships can be ever-changing/evolving, it kinda gave me some reassurance that it’s totally okay and imo, such a great thing to have those different friendships you can lean into for different parts of your life. I think I'm pretty similar with everyone i feel comfortable around, but whenever i'm with someone new i just don't talk. And i swear it isn't something i do on purpose, it just happens. Especially if it's like a friend of a friend. But still, as soon as i feel like i know them i'm my usual self again.
Something i do notice i change with different people though is the way i speak or words i use, mostly because i unknowingly copy their way of speaking.
