, her BF and our longtime bestie Jordy, and my little brother Ben) is that we aren’t afraid of a little adventure. Turns out we actually got so lucky with the timing that the weather was fine for us anyway!!Here’s a little visual diary of the trip highlights:

The boys, bless their souls, packed the whole car, but somehow packed the WRONG tent and also only ONE DOUBLE AIR MATTRESS. Jordy says I went ‘nuclear’ when we realised this, but I soon calmed down when I realised how snuggly four in a bed can be.

A fucking devastating night in Vancouver
Over the weekend, tragedy struck at Vancouver’s Lapu Lapu Day festival - a celebration of Filipino culture that should have been all about joy, dancing, and community. Instead, at around 8:14 p.m. on Saturday night, a 30-year-old man drove a black SUV into a pedestrian-only area packed with festival-goers.
At least 11 people, including a child, were killed, and more than 20 others were injured. The suspect was stopped by bystanders and is now in police custody. Officials say this isn’t being treated as an act of terrorism, and while the exact motive is still unclear, it’s shaken the city to its core.

In a move that feels so obvious you might wonder why it wasn’t already a thing, the Academy has introduced a new rule for the 2025 Oscars: voters now actually have to watch all the nominated films in a category to be eligible to vote.
Yes. You read that right.
Until now, you could technically cast a vote for Best Actor because you liked someone’s red carpet look or because your mate said the movie was good. Not because you saw the performance.
The Academy said they’re tightening things up to make the process fairer and more credible - because apparently we were just running on ✨vibes✨ for a lot of categories.

Sometimes you lose your phone. Sometimes you lose your footing. Sometimes... you lose both. Twice.
A 27-year-old university student living in Japan had what we can only describe as a chaotic week on Mount Fuji. First, he climbed the mountain out of season (which you're specifically not meant to do because the trails are closed, the weather is wildly unpredictable, and rescue services are much harder to access). Then he lost his crampons (spiked things you stick to your shoes so you don't slide down the side of a literal mountain) and had to be airlifted off the Fujinomiya trail.
Most of us, after being airlifted off a mountain, might take a hint from the universe. But not this guy. He headed back up a few days later to retrieve the belongings he’d left behind - including his phone. Unfortunately, this second attempt ended in another rescue after he suffered altitude sickness. Thankfully, he’s now out of danger.
