i say “something a rather” because apparently i can’t be bothered with the ‘or’ or it could be i genuinely didn’t know the correct saying. i’ll let you figure that one out!
on the permacrisis bit tho, i was working out my finances last night with my partner who i live with and i got VERY depressed realising now that i’m a postgrad student and litchrally don’t have the time or energy for a stressful, more pay job (my job last year), i won’t have a lot of free money just hanging around and i had a wee reality check and said to my partner that i’m lucky for what i have, and i’m doing what i love and crave over slaving away at either a hospo or corporate job i would’ve hated so ! on the other hand it really SUCKS to have to reality check yourself in such a hard time because it shouldn’t BE this hard to just live. idk. i’m very moody about this whole ✨cost of living crisis✨

Kinda off topic for this newsletter but this week I've started writing just silly little 'newsletter' type things talking about what I've been reading, watching, listening to, and my upcoming plans I'm excited about into a google doc after being inspired by SYSCA and honestly, it's sooooo fun to do in my downtime at work!

Oh gosh bel, your chimes always come at the right moments! I work in the water industry (think being responsible that everybody in a certain area has enough drinking water for various things) and study environmental sciences. Having this background makes me often quite depressed and hopeless. Having the reminder to do things I love was a thing I needed, so thank you!

I LOVE what your co-worker said, about being in PR not the ER. Literally only a few weeks ago I was incredibly stressed at work, and my own co-worker reminded me that all of our deadlines are made up, and if they can't be met, they can be moved. She said the only real deadlines are for doctors and nurses (and I respect them soooo much for it). Lucky to have such wise co-workers!
