London Laura, you can do it! This is the worst bit of the UK seasons - we KNOW nov-feb is winter but we hope for spring right about now and every year the cold drags on but when springs comes boy will she come and you will thrive π also so proud of you to have found a lil community!!! I remember your newsy entry about the barista and you have come so far π
Also YES to SYSCA letter/treasure hunt. Idk how but letβs do it.

London Laura - Hold on! April is coming and you will finally be able to see the sky again. When I was in London, everybody talked about December and January being so gloomy, but I thought February and March were the hardest to get through. Better times are coming bby. Find the lightness in your laughter and the rest will follow. π₯°
Omg March blues! When I lived abroad in Canada, at the end of my first winter (around March/April) me and one of the girls I had met were talking about how DOWN we were. We put it down to seasonal sadness cos the snow was starting to disappear and was replaced with rain. But now I think it can definitely also be attributed to the fact that the fun "holiday" vibes of living in a new place were wearing off.
I'm very curious about this #StopWillow thing because I've literally seen nothing about it... I wonder if I'll start seeing posts now I've been made aware
London Laura- I live in the US but I think the weather Iβm having rn is similar to yours. Every year around February and March itβs so gloomy and you feel like the snow should be melting and it should be warming up already. I always struggle through this time of year. But we can make it! April and Spring are just around the corner. One way I try to deal is by watching shows set in warm places and pretending Iβm there. π
London Laura! I agree with exactly what other Londers have said. This is the hardest part of winter because you get little teasers of spring but the cold and dark drags out. SO many people I know are feeling it right now (maybe this year worst that most) so hang in there. Spring will be glorious. The south of the UK will be phoenixing big time.
Also on your note thing- it made me think of a project (I guess youβd call it that) called notes to strangers. They have an insta for sure and they just paste posters about with lush messages on them. Itβs so cute. But Iβd be well up for helping spread the word of SYSCA over here in London π
My partner and I always try to get both the aisle and the window seat when booking. Best case scenario is that no one books the middle seat, and we get to spread out. Close second is one of us offers to trade with the middle person based on how we're feeling that day (staring out the window is great but sometimes easy access to the washroom is paramount). Usually, that person is stoked to trade, so everyone's day is made!
Headed to Ireland on saturday and I am an aisle stan, gives me a sense of more space, super excited and if anyone has any coffee shop/bookstore/pub recommendations for Galway or Dublin let me know!!!

Window seat for short flights but aisle for long trips...easier toilet and walking access...feel less trapped.

Wow, i wonder what it is about this issue specifically that made it go viral?
