You’re the (pine)apple of my eye + Bye Bye Brazil
+ i'm hosting an event with Gemma Styles... YES THAT'S HARRY STYLES' SISTER
HI angels!!! The world keeps doing that crazy thing that it does where for some reason it’s thrusting me as CLOSE TO HARRY STYLES as it possibly could without having us actually meet (which I think is a good thing) because this weekend I am HOSTING GEMMA STYLES’ ONLINE BOOK EVENT!!
We’ve been DMing about how we BOTH wrote about each other in our books and there’s just this wholesome mutual love between us, so I think it’s gonna be VERY VERY cute!! You should come if u want???
Anyway, I’ve been in Wellington for some family matters for over a week now, and I’m being looked after beautifully by my besties (unpopular opinion: how amazing are friends?) so let’s finish this off with a lil shoutout to Abby, Tiana, Lukas & Jordy who have and will be putting up with a little Luce on their couch forever 𓆩♡𓆪

You’re the (pine)apple of my eye
Um have y’all heard about what’s going on in Spain? Basically there’s a craze where single people are going to supermarkets to meet other singles, and using a fruit-based code. And it’s causing chaos:
“In recent days, many single Spaniards have been drawn to branches of supermarket chain Mercadona between 7pm-8pm by claims they can find romance at that time, particularly if they put a pineapple upside down in their shopping trolley.”
Apparently this had led to a bit of disorder in some supermarkets and in some circumstances the police have even been called to restore order.
Did you hear? Brazil has banned the use of X (Twitter)
You may already be across this (I’m late, sorry!) but Elon Musk, who’s not exactly famous for being a rule follower, has refused to comply with local laws in Brazil, which has led to “the social network being blocked in one of its biggest markets.”
If you want the ins and outs of the legal stuff, you should read this, but the most interesting part of this for me was written about beautifully by
- and it’s about the sheer amount of stan/ update accounts that were run outta Brazil! From Taylor’s newsy:
”Blocking X in Brazil is like dropping a nuclear bomb on stan Twitter and the shutdown is already sending shockwaves through the entertainment and pop culture universe. With over 21 million monthly users, Brazil is one of X's dominant markets, not only measured by sheer usage, but also cultural impact.”
Some of your favourite (or at least most VOCAL) Twitter accounts were run by dedicated citizens of Brazil, who, to quote a tweet I’ve seen SO many times ‘ran that shit like the navy.’ If you’re interested in knowing more about this side of the story, go and read Taylor’s newsletter about it:
