A man set himself on fire outside Trumps trial in New York
This happened a few days ago, but I thought it was worth revisiting in here for obvious reasons (um, it’s my job to bring you the news.)
A Florida resident who doused himself in a liquid before throwing conspiracy-theory pamphlets into the air and lighting himself on fire, has died.
Two stories about the Beckhams today
First: David is suing Mark Wahlberg
A random headline for your Tuesday, but David Beckham is suing Mark Wahlberg over a “failed fitness deal which has allegedly seen the footballer lose over NZ$17.8m"
Well, he’s not just suing Wahlberg, rather David’s company - David Beckham Ventures Ltd (DBVL) - is alleging that Wahlberg duped him into partnering with F45 (yes that gym) after forming a friendship with him in California - and so he’s suing F45 founders Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch, and Mark Wahlberg Investment Group.
Beckham now claims he’s $17.8m out of pocket after the stocks he was promised were withheld until after share prices fell. Eeeek.
Second: The Spice Girls reunited at Victoria's 50th birthday
A bit of a lighter story here, but the Spice Girls reunited at Posh’s 50th birthday over the weekend to perform ‘Stop’ and Boyfriend of Instagram David shared it here:

Is Coachellacore what we need right now?
Helllo crushes!
Incredible to open on mundane chat about the weather, but Lisbon is SO hot this week, and it's making everyone both simultaneously happy again after winter and worried about climate change. And yet, here we all are, still buying shoes. Speaking of buying shit, if I get another fake email claiming my fake Shein order is being processed, I'm going to delete all my accounts…
This brings me (somewhat unseamlessly?) to a wrap of Coachella, after being alarmed at the renaissance of 2006 boho chic amongst the crowds. Where do all these fashion purchases go once it's all over? Am I ageing myself out here? Don't @ me...
On top of that, I'm seeing Sabrina Carpenter's signature honeygirl look breaking the internet, I'm seeing Grimes' tech malfunction riding in on a giant mechanical spider being lauded as the worst performance in the festival's history, No Doubt making a nostalgic and necessary return to stage feat Olivia Rodrigo, and obviously, Lana and Billie healing all the world's problems for a suspended period of time in their joint set.
Questions I'm asking myself/you/us: Do you wish you were there? Is it worth $5,000USD (ballpark estimation of what it costs for a full Coachella experience)? Do you feel like you basically get some of the best parts of the experience by just watching it on your phone in bed with some M&Ms? Do you think you could go the whole festival without taking a photo in front of the ferris wheel? Do you sometimes go to a concert/gig/live show and want to yell at everyone around you like an angry boomer to put their phone away and live in real life OR do you think it adds to the experience?
Honestly? The geek in me wants to know - what's the future of these things beyond holograms and hunting down these brief, viral moments?
