I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this to you before, but since coming home from Bali I’d put myself on what I call an ✨event hiatus.✨ I did this because I was just DOING THE MOST and saying yes to WAY too many things, and it just wasn’t serving me! Last night I broke that (only lightly) by having drinks (a few too many considering it takes about half a glass of chard to get me tipsy) with a bestie, but it felt REALLY GOOD because I hadn’t been out in ages! Idk why I’m telling you this? Maybe it’s because the ✨silly season✨ is approaching and I’m prepping you for a few more hungover newsy edish’s, maybe I’m encouraging you to set 💋boundaries.💋 maybe I just like having you in the loop?

And in the name of keeping you in the loop MY FLAT AND I REALLY WANT A CAT! We’ve wanted one for about a year now, but were never living in a spot that allowed them, so now we REALLY feel like it’s time, and I want to take you on the journey with us. We knew someone who’d just had kittens (well not them, but their cat) and thought we were in line for one of them, but I think that might be off the table now :( We’d love to adopt/ rescue, but if you’ve got/ you know of any kitties up in Tāmaki Makaurau, lmk!!

I love watching these - they feel like something constant in my life (and in hers, as she says) and it’s really just nice to watch her thrive in the face of being in this fucked up celebrity world.

Tell me why it actually made me cry when she said what was most important to her was to ‘maintain her happiness??’ Actually, I can tell you. Because that’s my new year’s resolution every year, and it’s also what we answer when people ask us what our goals are for SYSCA!!! Ugh I love her.

ALSO, I loved the bit where she gets asked to give her fans some constructive criticism and she says: “trust me, just trust me,” which I think is such good feedback. You can take it how you want, but to me, it feels like it’s obviously in reference to her romantic relationships and how so many people are commenting on it ‘to keep her safe, or for her benefit,’ and she’s saying she’s got this. She also then goes on to say “I managed to get to a point where I not only was known by a person who I thought was the hottest fucker alive, but I pulled his ass.” In her Lover era, I see.

AND ‘WATCH’ IS HER LEAST FAVOURITE SONG OF HER OWN?? BANGER??

Billie said that this is going to be the last video like this we see in a while, but that they’ll keep filming it every year and only release them every few years 🥺

Researchers 3D-printed a fully recyclable house from natural materials

This is dope!!! Researchers in Maine have used one of the world’s largest 3D printers to create the first 3D-printed home made entirely of bio-based materials. They saw the problem of the US housing shortage (just a real chill problem to tackle) and rather than using concrete or clay, they used bio-based materials! Here’s a bit more about it:

The center’s 600-square-foot prototype features 3D-printed floors, walls and a roof made of sustainably-sourced wood fibers and biological resins. The house is also fully recyclable and doesn’t require weeks- and months-worth of on-site construction time to assemble. After 3D-printing four modules, the center assembled the BioHome3D in half a day.

It then took one electrician about two hours to wire the house for electricity.

I love seeing people using tech to do cool shit like this!! Go off!!

Prisoners on death row in Japan sue government to stop hangings

Three death row prisoners in Japan are taking the government to court to fight the use of hanging as means of execution. They say hanging, which is the only means of capital punishment in Japan, is ‘inhumane’ and that they’ve been put through ‘mental agony’ by knowing it could be their future.

Interestingly, the lawsuit “comes after two other inmates in Osaka took legal action against same-day executions late last year. Prisoners are currently notified only hours before they are to be executed, something the government has said is meant to keep them from suffering.”
