Happy Valentine’s day lovers!! I don’t actually care about this day at all, but I hope u all get kisses and hugs today, ur all my valentine’s xoxoxo
And if you’re up north in NZ - how are you holding up?? Cyclone Gabrielle is making herself at home up here - we’re okay in the city where I live, but a bunch of people I know are without power and the scenes north of me look pretty wild:
And I am obsessed with how much you LOLed at all the Dave’s I spent my weekend with, but even more obsessed with Tori, who sent me her very own Dave and he TAKES THE CAKE:

How do you block your ears?
Rihanna proved she was mommy at the SuperBowl
You’ve probably ALL seen it by now, but Rihanna performed the halftime show at the SuperBowl yesterday, and revealed that she’s pregnant!
And she didn’t become a billionaire by letting opportunities like the most PRIME advertising spot in the world slip by, so she took a sec to touch up her makeup (using Fenty beauty of course) and caused searches for the products to soar:

I also gotta point out her ASL interpreter/ performer Justina Miles (who's deaf herself) because she STOLE the show:
And the whole performance was pretty good too (the flying stage gave me the CREEPS though) - you can watch it below if you want!!

I HAVE BEEN MEANING TO WRITE THIS FOR YOU FOR SO LONG!!! You may have been scrolling on your TikTok lately and been seeing people dancing to a song that goes 🎶 moose ain’t sticking, water ain’t slicking, it looks like a feather from the back end of a chicken 🎶 and if you have, I’m here to give you it’s origins. First, an example of how viral it’s gone:

There are over 340k videos that have been made to this sound, and they are racking up MILLIONS of views!! This so buzzy because this is LEGIT a song that was written by my primary school music teacher Mr Phillips (John Phillips to the rest of ya.) Mr Phillips was literally the person that taught me how to sing - him and Squish and some of the other older kids at school even built us a school recording studio to record our own ‘Springlands School album’ in!! (It was called Springstars and it was LEGIT - Squish helped him record the whole thing too.)
‘Bad Hair Day’ was a staple at every school assembly - I can still hear the shrieks of 5-12-year-olds yelling ‘YO WHAT’S UP FUZZNUT!' - and he also wrote a whole album of other kiwi kid classics like ‘Lost Property Box’ (which is about a big old chest that acted as our school lost property box.) He’s an icon, he is the moment, and I hope he knows how viral this song has gone.
Turkey earthquake: Young girl rescued after 178 hours under rubble
Rescues are still taking place in Turkey right now after the quakes last week, and as the death toll passes 35,000, efforts are not slowing down to find the remaining survivors. One of those survivors is a young girl called Miray, who’s just been saved from the rubble after being there for 178 hours (seven and a half days.)
Turkey and Syria still need our help, so check out these resources for how you can!

I’ve been following Remi Bader (the TikToker who does the ‘realistic try-on hauls’) since the pandemic in 2020, and have been watching her journey with her initial ‘blow up,’ and then with her mental health, her body, and the critiques she’s been getting from the body-positivity community. So, when I saw she’d written this piece all about it for The Cut, I read it & wanted to share it with you all too (in case any of you follow her!) Go and have a read!
Today’s mundane poll:
After spending a weekend watching VERY NOISY BOATS I had to block my ears a lot, and I wondered if I did it the same way as everyone else. Hope this poll makes sense…
