Morning my babies!!!! This week has been the week of proofing and signing off on the text design of our book and omg it’s making me SO excited. And for all of you who’ve preordered it and been cute to us about it, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

Hunter Biden has been found guilty
Joe Biden’s son Hunter has just been convicted of three felonies during a trial “that made his struggles with drug addiction painfully public.”
The three felony counts are for lying about his drug use on a federal firearms application in 2018, which is… not ideal considering his Dad is in the middle of a presidential election campaign.
The charges that Mr. Biden was convicted of stem from the purchase of a Colt pistol in October 2018, and also included illegal possession of a weapon after falsely claiming to be drug-free on the standard background check required in all firearms transactions. - The New York Times
Hunter faces up to 25 years in prison, although federal sentencing guidelines (and first-time offences) usually call for a fraction of that penalty.
What does Joe Biden think about all of this?
Well, according to the BBC, the President hugged his son on the tarmac and said:
“I am the president, but I am also a dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today,” he said in a statement. Mr Biden added that he would “accept the outcome of this case and… continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal”.
As we take all of this in, let’s not forget that the other presidential candidate was literally just found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records.
There’s drama in the US hotdog-eating world
This feels like a very Squish-coded story (RIP The Shit Show), but competitive eating star Joey "Jaws" Chestnut has been told he “cannot join America's premiere hot dog contest after striking a deal with a vegan brand.”
He was removed from next month's “Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest” in New York, after he took sponsorship from Impossible Foods (who make vegan hot dogs and so are in competition with the ‘Nathan's’ hotdog brand.)
Here’s the statement from Major League Eating (yes, that’s a real thing):
"We are devastated to learn that Joey Chestnut has chosen to represent a rival brand that sells plant-based hot dogs rather than competing in the 2024 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.”
"Joey Chestnut is an American hero. We would love nothing more than to have him at the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest," the statement said.
"We hope he returns when he is not representing a rival brand."
Here’s hoping he’s out of the dog box soon (sorry, that pun was the wurst.)
