It took Wells Fargo 4 days to notice that an employee had died in her cubicle
In today’s edition of rise and grind capitalist hell, it took employees at Wells Fargo four days to notice that 60-year-old Denise Prudhomme was dead at her desk.
She clocked in at 7am on August 16 and on August 20th a security guard found her and police pronounced her dead at 4:55pm that day.
So fucking sad, more on the story here!
The first full day of a campaign to vaccinate 640,000 children against polio in Gaza has been successful
In case you missed it, Israel has agreed to a series of “humanitarian pauses” in Gaza to allow for the vaccination of at least 640,000 children against polio.
Why now?
About a week ago, UN officials said a 10-month-old baby had been partially paralysed after contracting Gaza’s first case of polio for 25 years.
In order to stop transmission of polio, the World Health Organisation needs to achieve 90% vaccine coverage across the Gaza strip.
How’s the rollout been going?
According to the BBC:
“On Sunday, Palestinians were able to take their children to three health centres in central Gaza in the first phase of the campaign, which will later extend to the north and the south.
"So far, it's going well and the turnaround is really good,” Salim Oweis, a spokesman for the UN children’s fund Unicef, told the BBC.

WHAT IS GOING ON ON THE INTERNET
First of all, soon you’re gonna be able to comment on INSTAGRAM STORIES???
Secondly, Tumblr is moving its HALF A BILLION BLOGS TO WORDPRESS?
This is from an article in TechCrunch:
“Tumblr is making the move to WordPress. After its 2019 acquisition by WordPress.com parent company Automattic in a $3 million fire sale, the new owner has focused on improving Tumblr’s platform and growing its revenue. Now Automattic will shift Tumblr’s back end over to WordPress.
“We acquired Tumblr to benefit from its differences and strengths, not to water it down. We love Tumblr’s streamlined posting experience and its current product direction,” the post explained. “We’re not changing that. We’re talking about running Tumblr’s backend on WordPress. You won’t even notice a difference from the outside,” it noted.”

So many of us have grown up having everything available and accessible to us all the time - which is AMAZING for so many reasons, but there is a cost to free things - even if you can’t see it.
In a world that feels more mystifying by the day, where journalists are constantly being laid off, and misinformation spreads faster than a leaked Harry Styles song, finding media that you trust, understand and actually want to read is so important.
I know you value what I do - so many of you email me saying how much you love the newsletter, thanking me for explaining topics you might not have heard of, and telling me how much it means to you that you’ve got a friend on the other side of this thing (🥺🥺🥺) If you believe in paying for the media (or the person???) you love, then please consider becoming a supporter.
