Happy Friday to all who celebrate!!! Yesterday was cute (and then a lil sad) and then cute again. I recorded an ep of The Shit Show with Dunc (which you can listen to here), came out of the studio and JACINDA ANNOUNCED SHE WAS RESIGNING (more on that below.) Then I continued on with work as normal, and when I came home, did some beading while Hayd did the gardens (pictured below), had dinner, and Flo and I went for a swim to end the night!! Naturally, we came home and watched Love Island (don’t forget to leave me your thoughts) and then I went to sleep.

You’ve defs already received a bunch of push notifications telling you this, but yesterday Jacinda Ardern (our gorg Prime Minister) announced that she will be resigning from her role as PM as of the 7th of Feb:

“I believe that leading a country is the most privileged job anyone could ever have, but also one of the more challenging. You cannot, and should not do it unless you have a full tank, plus, a bit in reserve for those unexpected challenges. This summer, I had hoped to find a way to prepare for not just another year, but another term – because that is what this year requires. I have not been able to do that. And so today, I am announcing that I will not be seeking re-election and that my term as prime minister will conclude no later than the 7th of February.”

All I can think is: fair enough. If you’d led a country through:

… you’d be pretty out of gas in the tank too.

Alec Baldwin to be charged in the Rust shooting

A refresher on the Alec Baldwin/ Rust story for anyone who needs it: Alec was rehearsing a scene for Rust (a new Western movie he was filming) when he fired a prop gun, resulting in the death of Halyna Hutchins.

Now, both Alec and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed (the film's armourer) are facing charges of involuntary manslaughter. (Remember - a charge is a formal accusation, not an outcome - and the two accused intend to fight it in court.)

If they’re convicted, both face 18 months in jail and a $5,000 (£4,040) fine.

In a statement, Ms Hutchins' husband, Matthew, said he supported the filing of the charges. "It is a comfort to the family that, in New Mexico, no one is above the law," he said.
