I've been following SYSCA for what feels like forever and I never considered commenting on anything (even though I love all of the content!), but today I had to. Dunc is my dishwasher soulmate!!! I have tried to explain my dishwasher loading logic and obsession to multiple people, even ones whom I would consider far more orderly and OCD than I am, but NOBODY EVER GETS IT! They'll say something like 'of course, you have to leave enough room between the plates' to seem agreeable, but they do not understand why the plates need to be ordered by size and shape, or that there is a hierarchical system in place with cutlery vs kitchen utensils, an elegant symmetry to achieve when placing mugs and glasses in a line... So all I meant to say is THANK YOU DUNC - I see you, I feel seen!
ChatGPT's Donald Trump on SYSCA made me so much laugh :D I get the newsy in the evening, as I live in Europe, but I always keep it till the morning to read it in the office before starting to work (my little habit that keeps me sane, love this routine). Can't understand putting cutlery in the dishwasher handle down. Just seems like a recipe for stabbing yourself with a steak knife when it's time to unpack.
Handle down but only coz I have an ancient dishwasher and the cutlery basket only accepts them in this way. It will take knifes handle UP so I def do that coz health and safety, people!

In my family we wash steak knives by hand so it’s the harmless utensils in the dishwasher.
