📚Shit You Should Read About📚

2
Fresh Air with Terry Gross — tiffanyachings: FLEABAG (2019) Season 2, Episode...

We get it, we hear you, we knowwwwww - when the world wants us to scroll endlessly on TikTok, drown out our every thought with a podcast, or seek comfort in the latest celeb biopic (or Modern Family/ Sex and The City reruns if ur us) who the fuck has the time to read a book?

Well, we do, and we want to help all our fellow WOP (Worn Out People) find that time too (it’s one a month - we can do it!)

So, we’re bringing you Shit You Should Read About, our brand new monthly book club for our SYSCA supporters 𓆩♡𓆪

📚join our book club by becoming a paid sysca supporter📚

Shit You Should Read About is for the hotties who aren’t gonna sit through a dense text for the sole purpose of impressing a snob. It’s for the ones who suffer under the paradox of choice and simply can’t pick from the endless stream of new releases hitting the shelves each day. We probs haven't read the classics, we def couldn't tell you the difference between the use of omniscient third person and the scintillating use of sympathetic background (lol, throwing back to high school English there).

But, we can tell you that life is too short to read shitty books, so let us shepherd you through some old faves, some new releases (carefully selected by us AND you) and unpack them together in a completely un-pretench way as we go along. Sound cute?

What you can expect:

  • A bonus monthly podcast where we unpack the book, make assumptions about the type of cocktail the characters would drink, what they would wear to a chic party and on a hungover Sunday, why we think they’re great and what the writing ~ did ~ for us

  • Discount codes for you to get your hands on the monthly picks a lil easier 𓆩♡𓆪

  • Chat threads for us to love/hate/crush on the characters

  • Real-time reading prompts (to remind you to choose the book over TikTok) in the Close Friends

  • Interviews with the authors if they think we’re chic enough (another work in progress)

  • In the future (hopefully) virtual bookclub hangs/ meetups?? The opportunities are endless!
